Artist exhibit at New Museum. Here is a major museum exhibition with an artist who is black, an ardent feminist who uses craft materials and techniques (cloth, quilting)—women’s art that was not considered art by institutions but relegated to a lesser category (you should have heard my mother, a studio potter, on the subject).
