Jennie Miller and I went to the far end of Texas along the Rio Grande to see the nation's least visited national park--least visited because it's so remote and wild. It's magnificent with canyons, desert, river valleys, vast alluvial plains, a whole mountain range--the Chisos--with its own ecosystem because its tall mountains capture rain that falls nowhere else nearby. Because it was a wet fall, the desert bloomed like crazy, yellows and purples and whites all over. Breathtaking.
